About

I love helping ag companies tell their stories to the world.

I’m Susan Luke, and I’ve been communicating on behalf of American farmers for more than 15 years. Before starting Farm Bridge Communications in 2025, I served in leadership Corporate Communications roles at Syngenta Crop Protection North America and the Crop Science division of Bayer, before and after the acquisition of Monsanto.

I also was honored to serve as the Editor of Farm Journal Magazine and the Editorial Director of Farm Journal Media, an icon for generations of farming families. My prior Ag work includes supporting the communications needs of the national soy checkoff, and monitoring anti-Ag activism online.

I’m also a former mainstream journalist, similar to the ones with whom I now regularly go toe-to-toe as a corporate communicator. I worked at Dow Jones Newswires in Australia, CNN Headline News in Atlanta, The Associated Press in rural Illinois, local TV news stations in St. Louis, Chicago and Boston, and business weeklies in Eastern Europe.

I believe my eclectic mix of experience differentiates my work. While I understand what journalists want because I was once one of them, I also speak the language of American farmers and the industry that serves them. Why? I’m a grand-daughter, niece and cousin of farmers. I knew their world as well as my own growing up in an inner suburb of St. Louis.

Education and Achievements: I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, near Chicago. I have served as a judge for industry-leading editorial content and have been a keynote speaker internationally on the challenges of corporate storytelling in adverse media environments (New York, 2022; Toronto, 2023; Ottawa, 2024).
